Prerequisite: Communications Technology, Grade 11, University/College Preparation
This course enables students to further develop media knowledge and skills while designing and producing projects in the areas of live, recorded, and graphic communications. Students may work in the areas of radio and audio production; print and graphic communications; photography; digital imaging; broadcast journalism; and interactive new media and animation. Students will also expand their awareness of environmental and societal issues related to communications technology, and will investigate career opportunities and challenges in a rapidly changing technological environment.

After students gain a basic understanding of television equipment and techniques, they will go on to produce their own television programs. Television is possibly the most powerful communication force in the world today and it is important that students have at least a basic understanding of this medium. The course emphasizes student involvement and participation. While one student is directing his or her production, the other students will work on camera, sound, stage design, lighting, acting, and so on..
